“Inception” is a jazz duo consisting of the singer Amanda Kapsch and the pianist Igor Zavatckii. In their first album, “I’m Glad There is You”, they interpret different jazz standards.
They arranged this album with a lot of feeling towards each other and the music. It’s about love in all its aspects – a confession of love, a very intimate and personal album for the couple.
Amanda Kapsch, born in the Ruhr region, studied jazz and pop singing at the Essen Folkwang University of the Arts and the Dutch ArtEZ Conservatorium. Her performance captivates with the diversity of facets of her deeply soulful voice, which lets the emotion of the music get right under your skin.
Igor Zavatckii, born in Russia, studied piano in Saint Petersburg. He completed his master’s degree in jazz at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. In 2015 he won the Jazz Steinway Prize. His virtuosity and expressiveness give his piano playing a sound magic all of its own, which at the same time creates the ideal synergy in interaction with the distinctive and enchanting voice of Amanda Kapsch.
